Drink Spiked in Colombia: How I Survived the Devil's Breath

Published about 1 year ago • 1 min read

Hello again!

What is the Devil's Breath, you ask?

Only the worst drug to ever exist. The same poison that was used to spike my drink.

While on a first date.

Which nearly killed me!

You can read all about it here:

How I Survived the Devil's Breath: Drink Spiking Scopolamine drug in Colombia

What I'm up to

Currently working remotely and writing from Boracay Island in the Philippines. It is home of White Beach, which consistently gets rated as one of the best beaches in the world. Here is a photo of my second office here, the Starbucks rooftop on White Beach.

Philippines is no longer as affordable as it used to be, but I cannot complain. And not many cafes offer WIFI, not on Boracay anyway. Even in the Starbucks I have to hotspot. Smart 5G SIM card has been a life saver on the island.

Where I'm at writing wise

Currently writing third draft of my novel after receiving extensive edits from my editor. To say it's hard work is a massive understatement. Working full time remotely as a writer and then writing/editing more after hours is, well, draining to say the least.

But I'm determined to finish this book!

Here's a new cover and title. Feel free to send me feedback, even if you think it sucks.

What's next?

That's about it for now. Probably stay in Boracay at least another three months then who knows... possibly Spain.

I hope to self-publish the above book by June. All subscribers will be offered it for free for a limited time on launch, will keep you posted.

In the meantime, read the story about my worst date ever; it's quite entertaining (as scary AF).

Until then,

Be free!

Being a Nomad Ain't All Sunshine and Rainbows A comment I get a lot from friends in reaction to pics I post on socials from around the world is:"Living the dream!" Which is precisely why I don't post many pics on socials, because I don't want to give out the impression that I'm living the dream. Living this nomadic existence is definitely not all sunshine and rainbows. There are challenges and it's not for everyone. Many newbie nomads don't last a year. Heck, some don't even last six months,...

Alicante on Spain's Costa Blanca

Welcome to the most infrequent newsletter in the history of newsletters. And most likely the last for 2023. As usual, I've been busy. After moving from country to country, working a remote job, finishing up my first novel and preparing it for launch, I've finally found time to fill in my subscribers. Thank you for your patience. Exploring Spain's Costa Blanca I entered Spain in the middle of a brutal heat wave. Thought I'd get some relief from the topics of the Philippines, but nope, this was...
